did a PhD on developing acoustic capture-recapture methods, including methods that don't require individual identification. He was awarded a one-yearEPSRCDoctoral Fellowship Prize after finishing his PhD and worked in CREEM for a year before moving to Auckland, where he is a lecturer in Statistics. See his home page
